Almost the end of another month in the garden. A very dry and dusty one at that. Strange that I should be writing this post as the rain lashes on the windows. The first proper rain all month.

A Parched Garden |
The Sedums are much more advanced than usual this July and the agapanthus have already peaked and starting to form seed heads.
We're pleased with the Myrtle . It clings to the bottom fence and has now poked through to the other side to reach the sunlight.
Hollyhocks planted last year have continued to flourish as do the cannas.
A solitary New Dawn rose has appeared in a very shady part of the garden and several rogue magnolia flowers have appeared for a second helping of this delicious plant.

Tomatoes are now abundant although I struggle to keep up with the quantity of water they need. They were definitely glad of the rainfall today.
Crocomosia are a very welcome addition at this time of year and the Tansy complements them well.
So how has you garden fared; is it parched too with lack of rain, or is it flourishing well? What has been your favourite plant for July?
