The Foreign Office spokesman said that the Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation of Afghanistan, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, will arrive in Islamabad tomorrow (Monday) on a three-day visit to Pakistan. Pakistan attaches great importance to Pakistan's cooperation and dialogue on bilateral issues in the Afghan peace process.
According to private TV, the Foreign Office spokesman said that the chairman of the Afghan National Reconciliation High Council, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, would arrive in Islamabad tomorrow (Monday) on a three-day visit to Pakistan with a high-level delegation including key members. Dr. Abdullah's visit will help in promoting mutual harmony, brotherhood and close ties between the two countries. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah President Dr. Arif Ali, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Minister Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood will hold meetings with Qureshi and other dignitaries. The visit of Dr. Abdullah Abdullah will provide an opportunity for dialogue in the context of Afghan peace process, strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan and people-to-people contacts.
Dr. Abdullah will be accompanied by a delegation of about 60 people, including his advisor, Omar Daudzai, Afghanistan's special envoy to several Pakistani ministers, and Masoom Stanekzai, the head of the Afghan government's negotiating team.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan had invited Dr. Abdullah Abdullah to visit Pakistan in a telephone conversation last month. This is the first visit of Dr. Abdullah Abdullah to Pakistan as an official. He was invited to visit but did not come to Pakistan.
